Forever His

Inspired by:
2 Corinthians 5:21
The Chief of Sinners
The Christian and the Self
“Energized by righteousness, peace, and joy…”

They say we’re sinners, stuck in shame,
Trapped in an endless losing game.
They bow their heads, call it humility,
But faith sees through their false orthodoxy.

I know who I am, no more disguise,
Blood-bought, redeemed in His eyes.
Not by my works, not by my might,
But through His grace, I’m justified.

I’m the righteousness of God in Christ,
No longer bound, I’ve been set right.
Not a sinner, I’ve been justified,
In His love, I’m sanctified.
Faithless minds can’t understand,
They hold on to sinking sand.
But I stand firm, my soul is free,
In Jesus, I have victory.

They call it pride, but they don’t see,
It’s faith that speaks my destiny.
If I believe in Christ alone,
Then righteousness is what I own.

He took my sin, He took my shame,
Now I walk in a brand new name.
His death was mine, His life I gain,
I’ll never hide in shame again.

No guilt, no shame, no weight on me,
I’m washed, I’m whole, eternally free.
Let the faithless doubt and fight,
I’ll walk in truth, I’ll walk in light.

I’m the righteousness of God in Christ,
Forever His, I’ve been set right.
Not a sinner, that’s the past,
I’m redeemed, I’m free at last.
